Jazz/Pop Piano Lessons - Private or Semi-Private Lessons

 

Have you or your child wanted to make up music on the spot, play music by ear with skill and polish, play keyboard in a rock or jazz band, or jam to the infectious grooves of a Jazz, pop, blues, Latin, or rock tune? Or perhaps you've wondered there's something more to piano-playing than just working inside the "box" of written music? If so, lessons in Jazz piano may be just what the doctor ordered! Jazz piano will focus on:

• developing the skills necessary to improvising
• playing music by ear
• playing and improvising in various pop styles, including boogie-woogie, ragtime, tango, blues, rock, pop, etc
• "comping" - creating effective accompaniments in various pop/jazz styles
• strong emphasis in music theory for those who want play in an distinctly jazz style

Our private Jazz/Pop piano lessons are one-on-one instruction and lesson lengths are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour.
