After years of early childhood music research and experience, the Irvine School of Music is proud to offer Music Pups, the finest singing, movement, and instrument play classes available for children from birth to age four.
Music Pups are Fun filled classes of singing, dancing, movement and instrument play for infants to 4 year-olds
These classes are brand new to Orange County and we researched dozens of programs before choosing to adopt this program at our school. We are passionate about this class; we believe it's the most developmentally appropriate and engaging class in early childhood music education for this age group. As educators with extensive early childhood experience, we simply love the fact that this early childhood class is for mixed ages. Younger kids learn from the older ones, and all children learn from each other and from parent/teacher modeling. Activities are of varied challenge levels to allow for learning, positive reinforcement, and challenge across the mixed ages and abilities. Research shows that the early childhood years of 0-7 are the window of opportunity to increase the life-long musical aptitude of a child. These mixed age classes are developmentally appropriate and allow siblings to enjoy class together. Parents learn how to enrich their child's music environment, increase music potential and understand music development.
Instrument play is an essential part of our
Preschool Group Music Class. Seen here,
combining chants and rhythm sticks helps
young children develop a sense of pulse vs.
rhythm in preparation for future instrumental
and vocal study.
