Qualified, Caring Music Teachers

We do not sell books or rent instruments – teaching is our focus and providing the skills for a lifetime enjoyment of music our mission.

Each member of our Faculty is carefully selected based on extensive teaching experience and the ability to work with the specific needs of our students. While music-making is at the heart of the lesson, it is always the unique goals of each student – whether a five-year old beginner piano student, an adult voice student, or budding songwriter – that constitute the focal point of instruction.

Experience Matters

Our Faculty holds university degrees – many with Master’s or even Doctorate degrees in their area of specialization – from the most distinguished conservatories and music schools, including:

  • The Julliard School
  • Rice University
  • Berklee College of Music
  • New England Conservatory of Music
  • USC
  • Amsterdam Conservatory
  • UC Irvine
  • Cal State Long Beach

Ongoing training and Accountability

As performers, they have been featured on Glee, performed with Alicia Keys at the Grammy’s, performed chamber music at Banff, sang Opera at major music festivals in Europe, and have been featured in publications the likes of the New York Times.

Because we have 20+ music teachers on our faculty, we can accommodate the needs of students of all ages and levels, from toddlers in our early childhood program to adult students and everyone in between.

In addition to passing on their unique knowledge of music and their instrument, the faculty at the Irvine School of Music is committed to teaching the Core Curriculum, an integration of healthy technique, listening (aural skills) development, and theoretical knowledge; this strong foundation empowers students with the skills to tackle advanced music as well as a variety of musical idioms, including Classical, Jazz, and Pop.
